.Bobby Lee Braddy, age 52, departed this earthly life on Saturday, July 6, 2019.  He was born January 4, 1967 in Robeson County to the late Acey Braddy and Essie Mae Floyd.  He was a 1985 graduate of West Columbus High School, where he was a standout football athlete.  Following high school, Bobby received a scholarship to play football at Catawba College in Salisbury, NC to continue his education and athletic career.  An injury ended his athletic career, so he returned to Boardman and was employed with Elkay Industries in Lumberton, NC.  He married April Kirby on August 24, 1991.

Bobby graduated from Bladen Technical College with an Associates Nursing Degree. He received his permanent LPN license in October 2003.  Bobby was employed with Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and later with Womack Army Medical Center.  Bobby shared his talent for caring for others by also working part time with Autumn Care in Fayetteville and Robeson County Jail in Lumberton.

Family, Church and Anime were the things Bobby cherished.  He served Horace Grove Baptist as a trustee, Sunday School teacher, choir member and volunteered his services wherever they were needed. He lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; watching football, cooking, playing spades with his #1 partner Rose Smith, listening to old school R&B, collecting Hot Wheels and sharing them with the kids, and watching superhero cartoons.

Bobby is survived by his wife April, son Jeremy and daughter Taylor, he affectionately called her George (Curious) and his faithful dog, Maximus (Max).

Three sisters Rosa Jane Floyd, Annie Jenkins and Julie Jackson.  Five brothers Eddie Floyd, Curtis, Jen Archie, Jessie and Belton Braddy.  A very special cousin, Rose Smith.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and his siblings Vester, Johnny, Janie and Clennie Braddy

Dear Mrs. Braddy and Family… I am so very sorry for the loss of Bobby.

Fortunately, death is only a temporary part of life. Jesus promised us a wonderful resurrection of the dead (John 5:28,29/1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14), so we have the hope of being reunited with our deceased loved ones. In the meantime, even though the pain of loss through death may sometimes seem insurmountable, rest assured that God will give you the strength necessary to endure the coming months (Psalm 46:1).

Please accept my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences…. John

Bobby was a lifelong friend and classmate. I will remember him for his loyalty and integrity. He was an outstanding athlete and had a sharp mind. Bobby was a friend to all who knew him. I will forever remember him and sharing a part of one of the greatest classes of West Columbus High School, Class of 1985. Rest in peace my sweet friend until we meet again. Forever friends, Bobbie Jean Bowen Nance
