Floretta “Flo” Thompson Baldwin December 17, 2017

  Floretta Thompson Baldwin , daughter of the late Mr. William Lennon Sr.  and Mrs. Mildred Thompson Lennon, was born September 5, 1941 in Fairmont,, North Carolina.  She departed this life on Sunday , December 17, 2017.  Floretta’s eldest brother, William Lennon Jr. her sister Clara Mackey and grandson, Marcel Powers proceeded her in death.

Floretta received her education in North Carolina and graduated from Rosenwald High School. She moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she found employment at Rosewood Center where she worked for over 20 years until she retired in 2007.

Floretta “Flo” loved to entertain and was happiest when she had the opportunity to  feed her family and friends.  She loved to do things with her hands and was very creative.  She loved  gardening  and decorating. For each  season and holiday she had a beautiful display.  We will miss her zest and creativity.

She married Mr. James Thompson and their union produced five children:  Audrey Campbell (Demetrius), Wanda Thompson, Terry McNair (Calvin), James “Jimmy” Thompson and Karen Thompson.  A later union with Venable Baldwin Jr. produced a sixth child, Greta Baldwin Daker.

Left to cherish Floretta’s memory are children: Audrey, Wanda, Terry , James ,  Karen and Greta :   her three sisters and two brothers: Linda Durant (Cleaster), Howard Lennon (Ruby Jean), Brenda McQueen (Dexter), Glenda Lennon-Davis and Willis Lennon.  Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren:  Demetria Campbell, April McNair, Calvin McNair Jr. (C J), Bobby Griffin, Denika Campbell, Dont’e Griffin, Kira Campbell, Anthony Robinson and S’mya Thornhill.   She leaves a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and loved ones.

Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the 2 Walk By Faith Ministries Church, 507 South Walnut Street Fairmont, NC. Burial will follow in the Fairmont Cemetery, Hwy 130 East Fairmont.

    So sorry for your loss. Death is truly an “enemy” and how we long for the day when “death will be no more”. May you know that you mother is resting, awaiting the time when “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”. Jesus will bring much needed relief from death.
