Mrs. Margaree Campbell Jones was born on September 26, 1932 to the late Mr. Frank Russell Campbell and the late Mrs. Beulah Inman Campbell.  She departed this life on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Highland Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lumberton,  North Carolina.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband Clifton Wallace Jones: her daughter, Sallie Jones; her parents, Frank and Beulah Campbell; three brothers, Louis, Wooster and Alexander Campbell; three sisters;  Euliah Watson, Nannie Skipper Campbell and Lorene Campbell, and one great-grandson, Shamond Green.

Margaree attended Red Hill School and Rosenwald High School in Fairmont, NC.  She worked in the textile industries in New York until she decided to return home to care for her mother.  She was a member of Spring Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Fairmont, North Carolina.  Margaree was a Deaconess, Usher, worked in the kitchen when she was able to do so, and was a member of the Missionary Department.  One of the thing she enjoyed most of all was driving her sisters anywhere they wanted to go , she loved Fishing , visiting sick and shut in family members and simply enjoying life. She was a humble person with a deep love for her family. She was known to all the children in the family as “Grandma Marg” even if they were her nieces or nephews, it did not matter, she was still “Grandma Marg.”    Marg was a die-hard supporter of the Andrew and Margaret Campbell Family Reunion.  She never missed one in all the years the family met and was looking forward to  getting the committee on the ball for the 2018 reunion.  She will certainly be missed there in September.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories: three daughters, Gwendolyn Sanders (Ronnie) of Angier, North Carolina, Vicky McCree, Michelle McCormick (Dewayne), all  of Fairmont, North Carolina ; one son, Levander Jones (Traci) of Greensboro, North Carolina; Two Daughters In Loco Parentis Telisha Jones-Green of Lumberton, NC and Oneisha Jones of Fairmont, NC;   three sisters, Vastie Inman, Ruby Campbell, and Grace Smith, all of Fairmont, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Campbell of Mount Morris, Michigan, and Gloria Campbell, of Fairmont, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren, five  step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,  and  other relatives and friends.
