Ronald Arnette, Sr. was called into eternal rest on Friday, November 29, 2019 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC with love ones by his bedside.

He was born on April 7, 1947, son of the late David Arnette, Sr. and Irma Roseboro Arnette in Robeson County. At an early age he joined Ebenezer Baptist Church and was baptized.

He received his formal education at Rosenwald High School in Fairmont, NC class of 1965.  After high school he moved to Washington, DC and then on to New York City where he was employed at Kings County Hospital.

He was united in holy matrimony to Lillie Ruth Beagle and to this union, three children were born.

After returning to North Carolina in 1970, he worked at different textile mills, construction work and finally started his own trucking company. Arnette Trucking for over 10 years until health would no longer allow him to continue.  Not being able to sit around, he began working for Robeson County part- time.

He was an ordained Deacon at Ebenezer Baptist Church for over 25 years.  He served on the usher board.  He was a choir member on the Ebenezer choir for over 25 years and a member of the Big 6 choir organization.  He was a member of Marietta Lodge for over 35 years.  He loved attending Sunday School.  His  love for gardening was unmatchable.  He enjoyed growing enough food to feed his family and share with his friends.  He looked forward annually to Arnette/Williams family reunion which was the highlight of his year.

He will forever be missed by his wife Lillie Ruth of  the home; one daughter Andrea Arnette of Charlotte, NC; two sons Ronald Arnette, Jr. of Fairmont, NC and Phillip Arnette (Keisa) of Lumberton, NC; eight grandchildren: Sadaria, Shakela, SaNyah, Jazmyne, Amaria, Desmond, Braylan and Khalil.  Three great-grand children: Nova, Kelaysia and Jadarian. One brother: David Arnette, Jr. of Lumberton, NC.  Three sister-in-laws: Gloria (Johnny) Leamon of Laurens, SC; Willette Hicks of Laurens, SC and Angela Beagle of Fountain Inn, SC;  Four brother- in- laws:   Milford Beagle Sr. of Enoree, SC;  Jimmy Beagle ( Johnnie Mae) of Fountain Inn SC; Herschel Beagle ( Linda) of Fountain Inn, SC; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Friday December 6, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Ebeneezer Baptist Church, Marietta, NC. Visitation will be at 12:00 one hour before the service...Burial will follow in the Alligator Cemetery, Marietta.
